Job Summary:

Clarus Technology is seeking a highly qualified Chief of Staff to work closely with the Clarus Technology Global CEO and her Leadership Team. From day one, the chief of staff will have an immediate impact on our productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and assisting with communicating objectives to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a business management role, preferably within a start-up to scaled business environment with a special focus on executive-level communication and presentation skills. This role will report to the CEO of Clarus Technology.

Main Responsibilities:

Clarus technology leadership team support

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the Clarus Technology CEO and leadership team
  • Work with Clarus Technology leadership team to measure and report on-going progress re: key strategic initiatives, deliverables, and action items to ensure strategic alignment and provide for continuous improvements, e.g. CEO Weekly Report and Monthly Business Review
  • Facilitate communication across the leadership team
  • Organize agenda and facilitate Clarus Technology CEO’s weekly staff meetings
  • Support Clarus Technology’s contribution to Clarus Technology Board preparations, ensuring that the CEO is also fully prepped for all strategic meetings.
  • Address inquiries on behalf of the Clarus Technology CEO to ensure both consistent communication and ensure the right executives are involved in decision-making at the proper time

Execution alignment and enablement

  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership
  • Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
  • Provide support to the leaders of Operations, Technology, Finance, Sales, Marketing and Product through the execution of strategic priorities.

Strategic development and planning

  • Partner with business leaders to develop a multi-year strategy which aligns with organizational goals and financial expectation
  • Partner with Finance leader and CEO to establish strategic scorecards to measure operational success benchmarked to expected best-in-class results
  • Provide , support and drive collaboration on ideation across the business – particularly on go-to-market Marketing and Sales efforts, growth of connected practices and insurers, as well as Operational Excellence
  • Lead strategic goal deployment process for Clarus Technology, partnering with each leader to cascade annual goals in their organization from top to bottom

Project management

  • Plan, direct and execute large-scale initiatives and special projects as needed, including hands on delivery of tasks where necessary to assist the leadership team.
  • Ensure seamless integration of project plans across internal teams and external partners, identifying and resolving blockers, competing priorities and resource constraints

Communications

  • Plan, and execute communication strategy with CEO and EA on all CEO communications events such as quarterly all hands, extended leader meetings, newsletters, external press releases etc.
  • Work with the CEO’s EA to ensure that, ahead of all strategic meetings, the CEO is well briefed, and any presentations needed are prepared, collated and input from leadership team is obtained.

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor and inspire a team (project/program managers) to deliver strategic results through the successful management of large, complex programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably a masters / MBA
  • 10+ years in a business or executive management role
  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form, exceptional PowerPoint skills a must
  • Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity, and attention to detail
  • Propensity towards action – focus on driving learning vs. perfection
  • Experience planning, leading and executing on strategic initiatives
  • Experience with budget management
  • Prior consulting experience is preferred with a focus on operations management
  • Agile business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on team cohesiveness and communication
  • Pet Insurance Industry knowledge (preferred)
