About the Product Filing Analyst position:

As a Product Filing Analyst at Independence American Insurance Company, you will play a pivotal role making sure our customers have top-notch pet insurance. This role serves as a central point for owning and coordinating the cross-functional teams involved in a successful DOI filing process. Please note, this role is not responsible for the filings themselves, but will work closely organizing with Actuarial, Underwriting, the MGA’s, Product Management and Compliance throughout the process. You will be responsible for strategizing a communication plan, and act as the single point of contact for all filing related to ensure a

timely and efficient filing process. That, combined with owning, maintaining and enhancing the centralized Filing Calendar makes this a pivotal role in ensuring the filling process is executed smoothly and appropriately from the beginning through to the end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owns, manages and maintains the Product Filing Calendar, including updating and communicating changes as well as enhancing it for maximum impact.
  • Manages multiple filing deadlines simultaneously, ensuring the responsible parties have the information they need, and timeline understanding for success.
  • Analyzes, interprets, summarizes, and distributes regulatory filing guidance to impacted cross-functional departments.
  • Provides guidance to the business to help them understand regulatory filing status, requirements, and timelines.
  • Creates a communication strategy for recurring updates, as well as notifying parties of key
  • changes that occur.
  • Owns and integrates the Filing Sign-Off process between all the required parties (e.g. Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, MGA’s, etc.), including enhancing the sign-off documentation for a smoother, more efficient and more automated process.
  • Works with Program Management team to identify gaps in the filing process, and present ideas to enhance that process.
  • Initiating and raising concerns or risks found within the filing process, and on the calendar.
  • Other related business responsibilities, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in insurance, compliance, analytics, project management or another related field
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within and across teams
  • Strong communication experience
  • Familiarity with the State Filing process
  • Experience and advanced skills in Excel
