Role Summary

The Product Owner leads strategy, delivery, and value realization for multiple products within a business vertical. This role shapes the product vision, manages multiโ€‘product roadmaps, aligns cross-functional teams, and ensures each product contributes meaningfully to vertical and company objectives. Success requires strong prioritization, customer insight, and the ability to drive outcomes across several concurrent workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define Portfolio Vision & Roadmaps: Establish and maintain a unified product vision across the vertical. Build strategically aligned roadmaps and adjust plans based on customer needs, data insights, and business priorities.

  • Own Backlogs Across Multiple Products: Create, refine, and prioritize epics and stories; ensure clarity of acceptance criteria; manage dependencies across teams; make trade-off decisions to optimize business and customer value.

  • Lead Agile Execution: Partner with engineering, design, and operations teams to deliver incremental value. Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews; ensure delivery meets quality, compliance, and usability expectations.

  • Champion Customer & Market Insight: Conduct or collaborate on user research, journey mapping, and data analysis. Use qualitative and quantitative insights to validate problems, test solutions, and measure product performance.

  • Drive Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as the single point of accountability for product decisions. Communicate prioritization rationale, risks, and progress to leadership; coordinate with compliance, legal, and operational teams to meet regulatory and customer-impact requirements.

  • Manage Financial & Operational Outcomes: Support business cases, monitor performance metrics, and track benefit realization (revenue, cost to serve, efficiency, customer experience). Recommend investment shifts based on evidence.

  • Oversee Vendor & Platform Integrations: Ensure external partners, platforms, and shared services align with product strategy, meet SLAs, and support scalable, efficient solutions across the vertical.

  • Tactical Decision Making - Works with other Technology areas to make tactical decisions about product functionality.

  • Project Management - Manages projects through all phases and milestones, including product feature/capability set for business solutions.

  • Performs market and competitor analysis as well as other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 Years Experience
  • Experience managing multiple products or platforms concurrently.
  • Strong backlog management, agile delivery, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Preferred

  • Experience in insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with ADO/Jira, analytics tools, and customer research frameworks.
