Job Summary:

Pets Best is searching for a highly qualified chief of staff to work closely with the Pets Best CEO and Leadership Team. From day one, the chief of staff will have an immediate impact on our productivity, leading planning functions, overseeing strategic initiatives, and communicating objectives between departments. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a business management role, with a special focus on strategy, executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration. This role will report to the Pets Best CEO.

Job Location: Hybrid Remote - Remote work is not available in AK, MT, HI (US) and Quebec, Nunavut, NW Territories, Yukon (Canada)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Pets Best leadership team support

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Pets Best CEO and leadership team

  • Work with Pets Best leadership team to measure and report on-going progress re: key strategic initiatives, deliverables, and action items to ensure strategic alignment and changes needed to achieve plan outcomes, e.g. CEO Weekly Report and Monthly Business Review

  • Facilitate communication across the leadership team

  • Organize agenda and facilitate Pets Best CEO’s monthly staff meetings

  • Support Pets Best’s contribution to IPH Board preparations

  • Represents the Pets Best CEO as directed and acts as liaison between the CEO and other executives, clients and stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and ensuring involvement or decision-making at the proper time

  • Execution alignment and enablement in partnership with PMO

  • Oversee (not lead or manage) strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution, under the guidance of senior leadership

  • Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation

  • Strategy development and planning

  • Partner with business leaders to develop a multi-year strategy which aligns with organizational goals and financial expectation

  • Partner with Finance to establish scorecards to measure operational success relative to expected best-in-class results

  • Provide Strategic guidance, support and thought leadership across the business

  • Lead strategic goal deployment process for Pets Best, partnering with each leader to cascade annual goals in their organization from top to bottom

  • Project management

  • Plan, direct and execute strategic initiatives and special projects as needed

  • Communications

  • Partner with communications team and EAs to plan CEO communications events such as quarterly all hands, extended leader meetings, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years in a business or executive management role

  • Proven experience organizing and directing multiple teams and departments

  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form

  • Extremely versatile, dedicated to efficient productivity

  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives

  • Pet Insurance Industry knowledge

  • Experience with budget management

  • Consulting experience with a focus on operations management

  • Proven success in a project coordination role

  • Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions

  • Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on team cohesiveness and communication
