The Senior Kitchen Operator is the subject matter expert (SME) for all kitchen processes, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting, and training to operators. This role is responsible for upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence, ensuring full compliance with all food manufacturing protocols.

While supporting all kitchen functions, the Senior Kitchen Operator holds direct accountability for ingredient handling, the operation and maintenance of dosing systems, and supplement preparation. This position works closely with the Team Lead, providing direct support on daily organization, continuous improvement, and 5S activities to ensure production targets are consistently met.




RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and food safety standards (GMPs, HACCP, and site-specific requirements).

  • Enforce safe practices for handling oils, supplements, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area through 5S and sanitation activities.
  • Act as the SME for all kitchen processes, supporting operators with training, troubleshooting, and technical knowledge.
  • Provide guidance on the accurate dosing, mixing, weighing, and transfer of ingredients.
  • Support the Team Lead by assisting with schedule execution, documentation, and escalation of issues.
  • Take ownership of operating, setting up, and shutting down kitchen dosing systems, supplement systems, and the Liftvrac.
  • Perform and oversee equipment set-ups, shutdowns, and disassembly to ensure reliability and compliance.
  • Manage material transfers (e.g., oils and supplements) to maintain continuous production flow.
  • Ensure accurate completion of production forms (e.g., Mix Op Forms).
  • Perform ingredient weighing, monitoring, and verification against production requirements.
  • Support quality checks and escalate deviations to leadership for corrective action.




QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education & Professional Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Training and/or experience in functional tasks, with demonstrated technical skills.
  • Basic computer/iPad literacy for reporting and documentation.

Knowledge / Experience

  • 2+ years of manufacturing or production experience (food industry preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in equipment operation, changeovers, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods on hard surfaces.
