Job Summary:
IAIC is seeking a leader to advance its pricing sophistication and capabilities. This position provides an exciting opportunity to shape the future of pricing at the company and bring structure to the organization and new ideas to life in an area of insurance that is growing and maturing like no other.
Job Location: Remote - This position is remote, and you will work from a home office. Occasionally, travel to the nearest office may be required for in-person activities such as team meetings, training, and culture-building events. Preference given if you are located near our New York or Phoenix offices.
Main Responsibilities:
Increase sophistication of risk modeling to increase accuracy and minimize subsidization in pricing manual to fullest extent possible while balancing regulatory and business requirements.
Partner with business to develop full-stack lifetime values (LTV) and build a company wide KPI and reporting structure to operationalize LTV in decision making.
Influence design and oversee execution of exploratory data analysis to understand the relationship between data elements and insurance processes such as pricing, conversion, and retention.
Lead data and risk segmentation improvements including the use of external data.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advance capabilities to monitor for emerging insights. Drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Support product and rate filing needs throughout the product/filing lifecycles.
Lead the advancement of competitive rating infrastructure, tools, and reports to inform market positioning.
Lead a small team of data scientists and/or actuaries to develop, maintain, and improve models for rating, conversion, and retention across a portfolio of products.
Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences through reports, presentations, and visualizations.
Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and other stakeholders across the organization to accomplish goals and objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelorβs degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
Associate or Fellowship designation in the Casualty Actuary Society or Society of Actuaries.
7+ years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in an actuarial or data science capacity.
Experience in data manipulation and statistical analysis.
Experience with prominent rating software used across the insurance industry (i.e., Radar, Emblem, Earnix)
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail.
Prior people management experience preferred
